[Singles] Nicodxmvs’ Four New Tracks

In the last month, San Antonio artist Nicodxmvs has released four songs. Tagging them as ‘trance’ and ‘triphop’, the electrified pieces are equal parts cinematic and haunted. Industrial and ambient. Transcendental.

After dropping two instrumental tracks, “Self-Affirmation” and “Emotional Intelligence”, he followed with the hypnotizing number, “Compassion” with vocalist Grapefruit. The song is described as “a new understanding.”

His newest track is “Forgive”, which is his first offering with vocals, showcasing a new element for the multitalented musician. While we still bump Nicodxvms and Western Tink’s 2016 album, Isolation, as well as his solo album, Fall From Grace, it’s great to see a slew of new tracks from the Texas artist. Candy Drips hopes for much more to come.

[Album] Thouxanbanfauni – Requiem

Atlanta’s own Thouxanbanfauni (aka Thouxan) released the fourteen track project Requiem last week. Thumping down the street and steady energy, this is one that demands a good set of speakers or headphones. If you need more, be sure to check out the visuals for the track “Wide Awake”.

[Album] Lerado Khalil – Shark Fin Soup

After releasing the EP 78 Season at the top of this year, St. Paul, Minnesota artist Lerado Khalil followed it up with the eight song album Shark Fin Soup. Blending trap music with video game vibes, the hashtag “Mildly Happy” is all too fitting with this release. The tracks “I Tried” and “Bark” go so hard. Sheesh.

[Album] Pink Siifu – Ensley

Now this is an album! 25 unique tracks that blend lofi hip-hop with jazz and soul and rap. Pink Siifu did his thing here. While the Birmingham, Alabama artist has a LOT more music available, this is a fine introductory project, one that will have me browsing the remainder of his portfolio. But not until I’ve properly digested this dense, 60 minutes beaut. Shout-out GRiMM Doza, liv.e, Budgie, Pyramid Vritra. Shout-out this album. Damn.

[Singles] Two New Tracks from Father

Last month, Atlanta’s own Father released a split single in the form of “Lotto” and “We Had a Deal.” The former comes complete with a guest feature from ABRA and production from Meltycanon while the latter is 100% Father. Both tracks feature artwork from wildman JJ Villard. What more do you need to hear? Both of these go.

Sick Sad World with Vela Seff

Repeat after me: SICK SAD WORLD. The newly formed collective of frequent collaborators Vela Seff, Nancy, and Tombo have been churning out music at an alarming rate. Vela Seff, in particular, just released Tears on the Fronto, a five song EP fully produced by Tombo as well as a single with Nancy and Bigbodyfiji. From what I can gather, everyone involved has much more on the way.

[EP] Misery Club’s Club Misery

Misery Club’s debut project Club Misery dropped last month. Featuring Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Lil’ Zubin, Fantasy Camp, Jon Simmons, Nedarb, and Foxwedding. Foxwedding really does it right with the first half of production on this EP. Handling two of the backdrops on the four song Club Misery, the final two tracks come produced by Nedarb and remain stuck up in the clouds. If you need more, the group released another single a few weeks back. Don’t sleep.

[Singles] Kent Loon & Chester Watson

In the last month, rapper Kent Loon has released two new tracks. First, he dropped the single ‘Drone.’ Produced by Psychedelic Ensemble, the thumping number quakes through the speakers. “Drone” was followed up with “Chessmaster”, a collaborative track between Loon and Chester Watson that demands a high speed drive. The two have plenty more around the corner, but these singles should hold you over for the time being.
