[Video] Mick Jenkins – Padded Locks and Barcelona

While we anticipate Mick Jenkins’ upcoming sophomore album, Pieces of a Man, scheduled to release this upcoming Friday, he let loose two singles. They’re linked together in the same music video while also being made available separately over on all streaming services. The kicker is that the track “Padded Locks” features the legendary Ghostface Killah. Don’t sleep.

[Album] Thouxanbanfauni – Requiem

Atlanta’s own Thouxanbanfauni (aka Thouxan) released the fourteen track project Requiem last week. Thumping down the street and steady energy, this is one that demands a good set of speakers or headphones. If you need more, be sure to check out the visuals for the track “Wide Awake”.

[Singles] Two New Tracks from Father

Last month, Atlanta’s own Father released a split single in the form of “Lotto” and “We Had a Deal.” The former comes complete with a guest feature from ABRA and production from Meltycanon while the latter is 100% Father. Both tracks feature artwork from wildman JJ Villard. What more do you need to hear? Both of these go.

Tampa rapper Big Baby aka Big Baby Scumbag dropped the single “Lucky Charm” earlier this Spring and it’s been on repeat. Now that it’s finally getting warmer outside, this is the perfect track for a backyard function, a top-down drive, or a rooftop indulgence. Complete with wild VHS visuals courtesy of DogXanax, the Drip-133 produced track is one that will stay in your head well into summer.

[Album/Video] Key! & Kenny Beats – 777

Rapper Key! spent a large part of 2018 teasing his collaborative album with producer Kenny Beats. The finalized album is 777, a 15 song run through of thumping intensity and electric bounce. Tracks like “Move” and “Toronto” demand to be played on loop at maximum volume. To top it off, Key! provided the visuals for the tracks “Hater” (directed by JimmyRegular) and “Kelly Price Freestyle” (shot by Miggy). The complete package makes 777 one of the most exciting hip-hop releases of 2018.

Rap trio is back in rare form with their new single “Pre Season.” After a brief hiatus, the Birmingham group hone in on their patented flows, their strong ear for production, and their unabashed lyrics. Both aggressive and energetic, this drum-laden track (produced by Anthem Beats) is the definition of the talent of K.L.U.B. Monsta. It acts as their manifesto, a testament, an appetizer. With KENXL (one of the best directors in the Southeast) behind the lens, K.L.U.B. Monsta delivers a cryptic but prime view of how they run the city in the visual for “PRE SEASON”. Shot near some of the alleys and railways of Birmingham, KENXL captures the energy of the chase as K.L.U.B. Monsta mobs through the city unknown if they are the hunted or the hunter. “PRE SEASON” is the first visual off K.L.U.B. Monsta’s upcoming debut album When Gawd Ready. This is simply a taste of whats to come for the talented Birmingham group.

[EP] EarthGang – Rags

Five new songs from the dynamic duo based out of Atlanta. This is their first properly packaged release since Strays With Rabies back in late 2015, but they’ve been doing plenty in the between time. Music videos, tours, compilations, the works. The new EP features Chicagoan Mick Jenkins on the groovy closing track as well as Spillage Village member J.I.D. on the standout track “Meditate”. You can enjoy the EP above and check out the video for “Meditate” below.
