[Single] INVT – Flights w/ Kesari & Chester Watson

A lovely new collaborative single between Miami producers INVT and vocalists Kesari and Chester Watson. It’s been on repeat since it dropped over the weekend. The artwork comes courtesy of Watson, who recently teased a lofi beat tape. Stay alert.

[EP] Rigz – A Piece of the Action

Late last year, rapper Rigz linked with Australian producer Flu for a five song EP A Piece of the Action. The bar-heavy project is full of hypnotizing soul samples and smooth flows. If you like what you hear, check out the added instrumentals over on Bandcamp.

[Album] Nedarb – Amity

Multifaceted artist Nedarb kickstarted this calendar year with a 16 song album known as Amity. Featuring an epic plethora of familiar names and Candy Drips affiliates, the project blends genres for a sound unlike anything around. It’s been great watching Nedarb’s evolution and progression, and this album is a further example of that rise.

If you need more, be sure to check out our interview with him a little over a year ago.

[EP] Young Wolf & XVRHLDY – About Time

Last month, Windy City artists XVRHLDY and Young Wolf let loose the six song EP About Time. The project is aggressive, dimly lit, and begging to be played in the whip.

Defcee – A Mixtape As God Intended, Vol. 1

Lyrical warfare for twenty strong minutes. Chicago-based rapper Defcee unleashed a mixtape of rappin’ ass raps over some familiar instrumentals as well as sporadic original production. An old school approach that still manages to sound fresh and new.

[EP] DA$H – IS HE DEAD YET?

Late to the party? Maybe, but Da$h’s most recent EP, Is He Dead Yet?, is perfect for the dead of winter. Featuring eight tracks trapped in dark alleys (complete with production from Mulatto Beats, Sledgren, Revenxnt, and more), this is a 15 minute nightmare you won’t want to miss.

[Single] NANCY – Spliff

On the last day of last year, artist Nancy released the single “Spliff”. With production from GRiMM Doza, as well as assistance from Tombo, it’s a 90 second body high, an atmospheric head trip to play when you can’t sleep.

Look out for Glitter, arriving later this month.

[EP] J Bambii – Retrograde

Chicago MC J Bambii (aka Oprah Gucci) launched three tracks at the end of 2018 and we’re still looping them daily. Lyrically sharp over lofi production (from familiar names like Wun Two and emune), the short and sweet project is something to play as you make your coffee for the day.

[Mixtape] Vela Seff – Up in Smoke, Vol. 2

Chicago-based rapper and producer Vela Seff released a mixtape on Christmas day known as Up in Smoke, Vol. 2. It’s a high powered sequel to his five song EP, Up in Smoke, Vol. 1, which dropped early last year. With his own production on two tracks, the new project also features Sick Sad World affiliates Nancy and Tombo, as well as plenty more.
